Il saggio discute l’importanza delle regole quale strumento di inclusione sociale, utilizzando come esempio il gioco del baskin. La condivisione di regole efficaci, infatti, favorisce una autentica inclusione in quanto garantisce a ciascuno pari opportunità e dignità. Nel contesto del baskin questo discorso si traduce nella capacità di creare un gioco che sia accessibile a tutti, indipendentemente dalle capacità e differenze individuali. Le regole del gioco, infatti, sono calibrate in modo tale che ogni giocatore possa partecipare attivamente ed esprimere le proprie potenzialità. Tuttavia, una individualizzazione estrema delle regole non è praticabile ed è per questo che l’arbitro svolge un ruolo fondamentale nel bilanciare le esigenze individuali con le norme generali del gioco. L’arbitro, infatti, deve essere in grado di interpretare le regole nel contesto specifico della partita e di garantire un giudizio equo e rispettoso delle differenze individuali. Essere arbitro, nel baskin, non è facile, in quanto richiede di saper facilitare il gioco, consentendo a ciascun giocatore di esprimersi al meglio delle proprie capacità, nel rispetto del proprio ruolo specifico. Un compito complesso, ma estremamente gratificante.

The sharing of effective  rules, in fact, fosters genuine inclusion as it guarantees everyone equal opportunities and dignity. In the context of baskin, this is translated into the ability to create a game that is accessible to all, regardless of individual abilities and differences. Indeed, the rules of the game are calibrated in such a way that each player can actively participate and express his or her potential. However, extreme individualisation of the rules is not feasible, which is why the referee plays a crucial role in balancing individual needs with the general rules of the game. In fact, the referee must be able to interpret the rules in the specific context of the game and ensure that judgement is fair and respectful of individual differences. Being a referee, in baskin, is not easy, as it requires knowing how to facilitate the game, allowing each player to express themselves to the best of their abilities, while respecting their specific role. A complex task, but an extremely rewarding one.
