Sessualità e procreazione

Qualche riflessione a partire da Schopenhauer

L'autore:

Le donne amano i bambini. Gli uomini amano le donne. Come farli incontrare?

Women love children. Men love women. How will they meet? Sex is the answer. In sex, in fact, women can have children through an action by which man can love them. After sex, their paths separate. The man leaves, on the lookout for other women, and the woman is left to care for her children. This is, in short, Arthur Schopenhauer’s thinking on love, sex and procreation. After broadly illustrating this theory, the author begins to question it by arguing that procreation is not Nature’s deception, something that can be avoided only by means of sexual abstinence, as Schopenhauer believed, but an integral part of mutual love between men and women.
